Sure not standard WR2, they would show driver's nickname, except you made your nick S:ML7777?
Maybe you have an addon installed? There are some plate mods around.

Erm.. you can change your licenceplate text thousand times at the menu and it does not affect your drivers nickname ROFL

Heyy guys Smile Good news Smile I've found some time and W164 is almost done, release soon Smile

Just some time ago I shown R129 Mercedes-Benz SL 320 at screenshots thread which I was working on. What can I say? I love R129, it is pretty car and one of those old classic Mercedes. I even couldn't say I am a big fan of Mercedes, I am more like a BMW guy. Nevertheless, I decided to stick with this and my friend sent me fine quality model. Even If I acquire permissions to release that model, I gotta find those wheels which I had planned on SL 320 originally. So, let me present you again: Mercedes-Benz SL 320 '93.

[Bild: wr2pc2012061412082363.png]

And Mercedes-Benz 500 SL '91.

Interior stays the same, MBWR one, since it looks OK in my opinion. So that gives me conclusion, if we compare MBWR and this model, to work on 500 SL, instead of that old model, which actually isn't pre-facelift one (lights, colored side panels etc. minor things) and some annoying features lack 3D. This is my third convert in terms of converting via Zmodeler/Lightwave and stuff, so one fault was found and still unrecovered. Front grille somehow disappeared after *.lwo convert to *.mox via MTKIT.

What do you think after all? Comments welcome.

If I will be able to release it, there will be just 500 SL. It is because it has that 500SL V8 engine in 3D, simple as that. About version with roof, good point. But I don't have skills to scratch build one. If it possible to use that, from MBWR - sure, why not.

On the meantime, I have some serious issue I'd like to adress to specialists. When I load *.lwo -> *.mox (MTKIT) it sends "Range error" message. It has to do something with verticles and polygon limit. How am I suppose to go through this option? It is common to new high quality models and cutting out engine does not solve the question.

Thanks, if someone can tell me what programm to use and what options to make.

Range error means indeed your model has to much poly's. I believe you can use around 65k in mtkit. To solve this, and use double that number, you can put some bits of the car in the Driver model, so that the car has around 65k polys, and the rest could be put in driver Smile That's exactly what was done with my BMW 335 F30 Smile

Thanks for quick response. How "exactly" to do this? Exporting stuff and naming it as Driver file?

OK, I just checked your model and got what you mean. But are the important necessities to make sure it works properly?

Not really, just that you have the same restriction on driver model too, max 64k polys.

Maybe one thing, you should leave the hull in the car model, and put seats, engine, dash into driver model.
That has got to do with the damage model.

WR2 uses damage on car, not on driver.
So if, let's say the wing, is damaged and pressed into the car, it will look bad if the outer part of the wing is deformed, but the wings inner part not because it's driver model.
Wings inner part would remain undamaged (stiff), wings outer part damaged, deformed, pressed into car hull.
Know what I mean?

Problem rises even more if you make damage parts, that fall off.

So, I remade the car from scratch, now with proper grill mesh! Few significant colors on the screen. Ride height OK?
